We Don’t Kill Spiders #3

A few days have passed since the fierce battle between the Jarl’s men and the horde of zombies unleashed by the sinister pig demon, Moccas. Bjorn’s mind drifts back to his youth as a Viking, accompanying his brother on brutal raids against the British. However, he soon realizes that he cannot stomach the senseless violence that accompanies such raids, prompting him to break away from his clan and forge his own path.

In the present, Bjorn and the Jarl engage in a conversation about Bjorn’s progress in uncovering the identity of the killer who is summoning demons through ritual sacrifices of innocent families. The Jarl reveals that only he and his circle of guards are werewolves, while the rest of the village is blameless. Initially skeptical, Bjorn absorbs this information based on his knowledge of folklore, yet he refuses to succumb to superstitious fear. His primary objective remains to protect the unconscious Revna, as he believes she holds the key to finding the true culprit.

Meanwhile, Revna finds herself in the dark realm, her consciousness connected to the Spider Queen. The Queen has trapped Moccas’s soul and compels him to disclose the identity of the one who summoned him. Although Moccas is unaware of the spellcaster’s identity, he knows that he was sent by his master, the Black Goat of the Wood, in exchange for a payment. The Black Goat is an anti-god who wields destructive power against those who meet his price.

As the issue concludes, the Black Goat makes it clear that he despises being spied upon, and the identity of the individual who struck a bargain with the Black Goat is finally revealed, shedding light on their motives and intentions.
