Quests Aside # 2

Quests Aside # 2

Quests Aside #2 begins with Boon assembling an adventuring party while Barrow tasks him with delivering a letter to the King. Initially reluctant, Boon changes his mind when Barrow presents it as a quest. However, Barrow’s employees encounter various issues: Jodan requests the night off for a meeting, and Ray quits due to insufficient food supplies.

Observing a group of adventurers sharing stories at the bar, some involving Barrow, Krayn and Peryl reminisce about old times while Barrow provides corrections. Eventually, they try to convince Barrow to reconsider retirement, believing that owning a bar is a regrettable existence.

Mira visits the bar, not to make another offer, but to inform Barrow that the King is attempting to force him out. Barrow is uncertain about his next move, but Mira brings him supplies to help him through the situation, showcasing the complexity of her character.

Zuzanna informs Barrow that the guests he invited for a meeting have arrived and expresses her own issues, particularly with Ray. However, Barrow feels he doesn’t have time to address her problems at the moment. These instances of random activity provide insight into how Barrow is navigating life after adventuring, and how the ordinary and relatable problems faced by his employees fill in the gaps of his new existence.

The scene transitions to the meeting of Adventurers Anonymous. Participants share their stories, creating a blend of touching and comical moments. Barrow listens to their tales and shares his own, reflecting on his past as a remarkable adventurer. Has opening a bar been his greatest mistake, or has it unexpectedly filled a void in his life? Moreover, why is the King, his former friend, attempting to take everything away from him? The answers remain elusive.
