E-Ratic Recharge #1

E-Ratic Recharge #1

Despite the dynamic art by Kaare Andrews and vibrant colors by Brian Reber, E-Ratic Recharged #1 falls into the category of a typical teenage superhero comic. One noticeable drawback is the lack of distinctiveness among Andrews’ female characters, as they are written and drawn in a somewhat interchangeable manner. The introduction of a new character in this issue is marred by an excessive focus on revealing shots, prioritizing provocative visuals over her role in the storyline. However, E-Ratic Recharged still possesses its own allure, particularly in its well-executed fight scenes and the portrayal of protagonist Oliver’s pathos and vulnerability, which surpasses even Peter Parker’s depiction of instability. Moreover, the issue concludes with a solid cliffhanger, adding an element of intrigue to the narrative.
